Responses to HCC's consultation on amendments to their Waste Sites Allocation plan

Today is the last day to get responses in by email to HCC's consultation on the proposed amendments to their Waste Sites Allocation plan -

There has been a very good response, with 830 completed forms of objection from the Brookmans Park area alone, and possibly more sent direct to County Hall or emailed to spatial planning.

Cathy Roe of HAI is hoping that the aim of 2500 objections will have been reached or exceeded, and that this will be enough to demonstrate to HCC the strength of local opposition to taking New Barnfield out of Green Belt and turning it into a waste site.

We do not know whether the results will be published before the result of the Public Enquiry into the proposed Hatfield incinerator, but the New Barnfield Trust, HAI, the North Mymms Green Belt Society and ourselves, will all give updates as soon as we know.

Very many thanks to all residents who have helped deliver leaflets - often in driving wind and rain - who have helped on the stands in the Dutch Nursery and Hatfield town centre, and who have taken the time and trouble to complete forms to register their objections. Thank you too, to Mayur and Sue at Brookmans Park News, who kindly hosted the NMGBS and BPRA red box for the completed forms. We couldn't do it without you all!
