North Mymms Parish Annual meeting 9th April

North Mymms Parish Council has announced that the Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Wednesday 9th April at 8.00p.m in the Burns Sports Pavilion, Bushwood Close (off Dellsome Lane), Welham Green, AL9 7YZ.
North Mymms residents are welcome to attend this public meeting. This is your opportunity to find out what the Parish Council is doing and to meet your Parish Councillors.
Councillor John Dean, Leader of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and Councillor for Brookmans Park and Little Heath ward will speak about the Welwyn Hatfield Core Strategy, to give parishioners information, including an update on the latest position on what is happening on the emerging Core Strategy.
There will be a Public Forum item, which gives those present an opportunity to ask questions and raise matters relevant to the parish. It would be appreciated if questions could be submitted in writing, in advance, which gives the best chance for a detailed reply.

BPRA committee members will be putting a list of questions together to put to Councillor Dean, after the BPRA AGM on Thursday 13th March. Members of the BPRA are welcome to send their questions to us to add to our list. Do this by email:      or write to the BPRA at 4 Station Close, Brookmans Park  AL9 7SU

WELHAT Core Strategy update

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council have published a brief update on the progress of their Core Strategy on page 6 of the latest WH Life, issue 47 Spring 2014. To quote:

"Here's an update on the work taking place to prepare our Core Strategy - the key document that sets out the council's strategy and objectives for planning in the borough to 2029.

Updating evidence - This includes looking at the latest census data and future household size, together with changes to the borough's population. This is needed to assess the amount of housing needed in the borough.

Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment - Work continues into looking at potential land available for housing development, and we are now updating our information on land outside urban areas.

Infrastructure - Work is also ongoing looking at how development may affect transport and the potential impact on local services such as water, sewerage, schools and health.

Studies which have been completed are available on the council's website, and we produce regular newsletters updating the progress on the Core Strategy. If you would like to receive these by email, please contact to be added to the mailing list".
