Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council have published a brief update on the progress of their Core Strategy on page 6 of the latest WH Life, issue 47 Spring 2014. To quote:
"Here's an update on the work taking place to prepare our Core Strategy - the key document that sets out the council's strategy and objectives for planning in the borough to 2029.
Updating evidence - This includes looking at the latest census data and future household size, together with changes to the borough's population. This is needed to assess the amount of housing needed in the borough.
Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment - Work continues into looking at potential land available for housing development, and we are now updating our information on land outside urban areas.
Infrastructure - Work is also ongoing looking at how development may affect transport and the potential impact on local services such as water, sewerage, schools and health.
Studies which have been completed are available on the council's website, and we produce regular newsletters updating the progress on the Core Strategy. If you would like to receive these by email, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the mailing list".
